
I found many interesting places when I was driving on road to Amed. Places that I would recommended with you to see. Places such as the amazing blue water of Blue Lagoon, the camping site at Bukit Asah, Taman Soekasada Water Park, and many more.
And below I share with you list of places that you will find on road to Amed.
1. Keramas Beach

This beach is famous for its tube-waves for surfing, and use by Word Surf League – WSL for its world surf competition series.
Keramas Beach is a vast black sandy beach mix with a few colorful types of gravel. The beach is quiet, nice beach to lay your back on the sand.
Keramas is accessible from the main highway of Jalan Ida Bagus Mantra, which runs parallel to the coast of Sanur. The location of the beach is on the right side of the main highway.
2. Bat Cave – Goa Lawah Temple

Goa Lawah is also interesting to see, because it is one of the holiest temples in Bali, and located on the left side of the main way.
The temple is facing the wide blue ocean, and standing tall in a cave opening inhabited by bats.
3. Bias Tugel Beach

The beach is a stretch of long white sand beach, tranquil, and also good for snorkeling.
The location of the beach is in Padang Bai village on the right side of Padang Bai harbor.
If you are visiting this beach don’t miss visiting the Blue Lagoon as well, the location is also in Padang Bai.
4. Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon is an amazing place on road to Amed. It is a small bay located on the right side of Padang Bai harbor.
The beach is tranquil surrounded by black mountain rocks, a nice place to be laid-back enjoying the day.
The water is so blue with beautiful underwater views, which makes this beach another amazing place for snorkeling.
5. Candidasa Beach

The beach is pretty unique, because some part of the beach is covered with white sand, while the other part is covered with black sand and coral beds.
This place is famous for its underwater paradise, and if you decide to stay at Candidasa, don’t miss the opportunity for snorkeling or diving.
6. Jasri Beach – The Surf Spot in East of Bali

It is a beautiful little beach located about 20 minutes from Candidasa, and famous among surfers in Bali. When the waves are too big in the west side of Bali, many surfers will come to this beach to surf.
7. Virgin Beach

This is another beautiful white sand beach in Bali. The area is tranquil, perfect place for relaxing and enjoying some fresh coconut.
The waves are gentle, friendly enough for swimming. The underwater is also amazing, and you can rent snorkeling gear easily in the area.
8. Bukit Asah Camping Ground

It is located in Bugbug village about 500 meters away from Virgin Beach. It has a stunning view of cliff facing the ocean, and a small island view that emerges from the ocean.
If you are interested in camping, this place is for you. You don’t even need to bring your own tent, you can easily rent it there.
9. Taman Ujung Water Palace

There are two water palaces in Karangasem, and they are Taman Ujung and Tirta Gangga, both own by royal family of Karangasem.
Taman Ujung that is located at the edge of the south side of Amlapura Regency, and Tirta Gangga water is near Abang village in north of Amlapura Regency.
Taman Ujung has three large pools. In the middle of the pool, there is the main building named Gili Bale, connected to the edge of the pool by bridge.
10. Tirta Gangga Water Palace

Tirta Gangga is more popular compared to Taman Ujung Water Palace.
The primary draw of this place is a lovely maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues around the area.
There are two pools where you can swim. Local’s folklore says that if you swim in the pool, the water will make you look younger than before.
You can add this water palace on your things to see in Amed’s list, as this place is beautiful with colorful fishes in the pond and hundreds of statues inside it.
